Worship music was provided by Carolyn Lane from the Living Hope congregation in Champlin. The intended outcomes were that participants would learn and experience The Connection Between Emotional Health and Spiritual Maturity, Symptoms of Emotionally Unhealthy Spirituality, An understanding of the True Self Hidden in Christ and contemplative Practices that Lead to Emotionally Healthy Spirituality.

Here are some comments from participants:

“It opens the way for a closer walk with God through authentic practices.”  - C. Holladay

“The most important thing I learned was the love of God working in the lives of people. This seminar brings people closer to God. I will be praying for Odyssey in Christ.” – G. Sexter

“I learned I must remember to take time for inner contemplation. This was a good chance to reflect on inner stress, motivation and richness of deep feelings.” – R. Mead

“Be honest/vulnerable with God. Know who I am by drawing closer to God, and in the end I’m just overwhelmed by His Presence and Love. This seminar has awakened a desire to be intimate with God and cultivate deeper a deeper relationship with God. I want to grow to be more like Jesus.” – A. Kpela

“Dr. Hinkle said that we were created in such a way that often our bodies (through feelings/emotions) know something before our minds do. He urged us not to ignore but to take these feelings/emotions in prayer to the Lord and he will reveal the source of these feelings (whether negative or positive, recent or buried deep in the past) and bring about transformation and healing. Personal stories from Gracie Johnson, Ron and Rebecca Hickman helped illustrate how this may unfold.” – D. Johannsen

“OIC’s Emotionally Healthy Spirituality seminar provided eye opening insights into past wounds that trigger negative behaviors and hinder our emotional maturity. We were challenged to identify feelings that have been stuffed and festering, and given multiple tools to bring these feelings into the light of Jesus’ love so healing can begin. Since the seminar, these things have been on my mind frequently, and I pray that God would help us internalize them. This type of inner healing leads to the real transformation that our hearts desire and brings us so much closer to the Lover of our Souls.” – C. Lane
