Experiencing the Trinity 3-Day Retreat
Our purpose in presenting the Experiencing the Trinity Spiritual Renewal Retreat is to provide a time for pastors, ministry leaders, and lay members alike to be refreshed, rejuvenated, and spiritually renewed by means of a focused encounter with our Triune God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Through periods of solitude, prayer, meditation, communion, fellowship, and other spiritual formation activities, participants will have the opportunity to come to know God more intimately, and to experience his presence in deeper ways.
The time-frame for the retreat is a full 70 hours, beginning on a Thursday evening at 5:30 PM for dinner with fellow participants, spiritual directors and staff, and concluding on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 PM.
The cost of the retreat is $325. It includes the registration fee, lodging, meals and retreat materials.
A retreat brochure and required pre-retreat downloadable reading materials are located in the column to the right.
- Participants must be present and remain on campus for the entire period of time: Thursday, beginning with dinner at 5:30 p.m. to Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
- Due to the prayerful and meditative nature of the retreat, use of watches, cell-phones, computers or other electronic devices are not permitted except in case of emergency.
- Since the retreat is bathed in prayer, each participant is asked to find a minimum of five individuals not attending the retreat who are willing to dedicate themselves to praying for the participant over the three days.
- All participants must take the Spiritual Temperament inventory and read the pre-retreat study materials prior to attending the retreat. These materials may be found in the right sidebar.
FOR ACADEMIC CREDIT
Experiencing the Trinity, a graduate seminary course is offered through Grace Communion Seminary. This 12-week course studies spiritual formation. Participation is required in the Odyssey in Christ three-day Experiencing the Trinity retreat that presents students with the opportunity to come to know God more intimately through silence, solitude, meditative prayer, communion, worship and other spiritually formative activities. The retreat experience is informed by a study of the dynamic of these practices as they relate to Scripture and the call of the Triune God to know him better.
The course is scheduled for the fall semester. Click here (gcs.edu) for further details regarding the seminary and course offering. Payment for the course is made to the seminary; payment for the retreat is made to Odyssey in Christ.
